Let's live on!

I actually posted this drama review once in my FB account, but I just want to repost here since this is truly a recommended drama, my most favorite among the dramas Shige starred in! Plus everything here is so memorable - the plot, the casts, the theme song!

ゼロ 一獲千金ゲーム (Zero: The Bravest Money Game)

Synopsis from AsianWiki: Zero Ukai teaches middle school students at a private institute. In reality, he is a hero who saves the weak that suffers. Zero Ukai participates in a survival game. The game takes place at an amusement park that is under construction. The participants of the game must risk their lives, but the winner will receive 100 billion yen. The participants help each other and strike up friendships.

PERSONAL REACTION: I am totally affected on every episode! Apart from the excitement and fear that the drama brings due to its “Death and Gambling Game” theme, there are lots of lessons that can be applied in real life.

*Math and Science are essential in life*

Generally speaking, right after watching the whole drama, I now appreciate the importance of Math and Science in real life (Geometry and Physics are mostly applied in the drama, those two are actually my most hated subjects when I was still in high school lol), since these two were used in order to clear the game stages (and in order to save their lives at risk).

*Even if you're already successful, keep your feet of the ground*

Even if you know yourself that you excel in every thing you do, be aware that there are still some persons better than you, thus, you must be humble at all times.

*Keep the competition healthy*

We are indeed living in a world full of competition, hence we cannot do anything to avoid it. But we can keep the competition clean. Be a good sport. Do not push yourself too hard. Learn to give chances to others. Remember, the world is not revolving around you only.

*Friendship is greater than money*

We cannot buy real friendship. And real friendship is rare. Friendship is not only on how you always do something for other's favor.
Sadly nowadays, money is one factor to either gain or lose friendship (or let me say, the thing that most of us mistakenly think as "friendship").

*Trust is hard to gain but easy to break*

Closest friends, or even families, tend to become rivals or enemies once trust among them breaks.

*There is no such thing as easy money*

Everything we would like to gain needs hard work and sacrifice, even in lottery, when we risk our money to either gain or loss.

*Life is not a toy to play with*

You live only once. Therefore, we should live our life to the fullest. Be a good person. Always.

One sad quote from the drama though:
"The world is full of injustices and flaws. And that's why kind, hardworking people end up turning to death as an escape."

So apart from the bravest (and probably the dirtiest) money game and the life lessons it brings, I am again being a proud Shige fan here! And he gained lots of fans after he did the role! 💚. Sasuga, he again played such cool and smart role that really fits him. And he's really handsome oh my!!!! I LOVE HIM EVEN MORE HAHAHA😍!
Although Mamiya Shotaro caught my eyes here lol. He's also really handsome 😭. And Bi Shounen's Sato Ryuga is a cutie too! I think I am starting to root for Bi Shounen, among Johnny's Jr. units lol (and currently I am stanning these boys OMG!). And I was just amazed that Ryuga had actually auditioned for Shirube's role! (Actually, that was a secret audition, the juniors didn't know that they acted on the drama remakes of the previous junior dramas so Shige and the drama staff know who to choose among them who would fit Shirube's character.)

And I was really happy seeing Shige co-starred with his real life "kokoro no tomo" a.k.a Massu, Tego and Koya.

(So memorable... Yonin NEWS has a special place in my heart 😭💜💗💛💚)

REACTION THREAD
WHERE TO WATCH

BONUS! Bi Shounen has this video wherein they played Breakdown, one of the games featured in the drama!
EDITED 09.03.2022: An official video of NEWS performing Ikiro, the theme song of the drama (during STORY concert)!

Okay, I’m going to share my thoughts straight to the point, without an introduction. I just watched Dragon Seinendan, and I liked it, because of its genre. Being fond of adventure-fantasy type of dorama plus enough comedy, Dragon Seinendan made me got hooked on until the last episode. (Although each episode only consists of about 24 minutes.) But, in my opinion, this is not as appealing as other fantasy-themed series.

So, I’m not giving lots of spoilers(but will give you some!) – Actually, this is just a little ‘reaction paper’ (As what students are doing after film viewing), just like what I’ve done after watching Yukan Club, Zenkai Girl and Kowai Nichiyoubi episodes. I actually did short reviews here in my journal.

Dragon Seinendan is a story about a group of young people living in suburban town of Hikariyama who aimed to be “Warriors/Heroes of Light” by protecting Japan from the dragon that appeared in Tokyo. Having the mark of true Warriors of Light, they accepted the challenge of killing the dragon using 4 elemental crystals and ‘dragon slayer’ sword that they need to search.

Actually, Tamotsu, played by Honda Chikara, is missing here, who also plays a major part in the series. The one on the outmost right, Kazuki, played by Daito Shunsuke, just appeared once or twice in each episode.

Actually, Kanjani8’s Yasuda Shota fits as one of the main casts of the series, since he somewhat looks like in late teens to early 20s. Why did I say so? Because ‘Seinendan’ means “Youth Association”. Plus, he really acted as a young guy who loves adventure. Funny Yasu-kun! :)

And you’ll expect a videogame-like scenes in the series!

SOME SCREENSHOTS:

ss2
At the start of the series, amazingly, a dragon was seen "embracing" the Tokyo Tower.

These friends are showing their 'marks' of being Warriors of Light. And it's funny that only Yoshio has the mark on his butt, whereas others have their marks on their arms.

Yoshio's 'Buttmark' LoL... xDD

Anyway... in the series, I found Yoshio(Yasuda Shota) and Yoko(Renbutsu Misako - Zenkai Girl's Soyoko) cute together! (Yasu-kun's literally cute... hehe.)

One part of the series, Yoshio is shouting, err, singing with his guitar!

Here's
the song he shouted, I mean, he sang. I just recorded it with my phone, gomen for the not-so-quality sound. (And it's not really audible.)

Plus.. here's a spoiler: KAT-TUN's Kamenashi Kazuya guested! (He just looked like Avatar here! LoL... )

Yeah, I guess he guested because KAT-TUN sang "Fumetsu no Scrum", the series' theme song.
And here's my 'namesake', Uozumi Rie as a TV reporter!

And here's a short info about the series. (Source: dramawiki)

  • Episode Information
01           The cafe where it all started
    02           The windy apartment complex
    03           The fiery elementary school
    04           The earthy baseball field
    05           The watery community pool
06           The snack bar town where the fairy is
    07           The lightening basement
    08           The floating park
    09           The sad home
10           The commercial district of light

Lesson learned: This was not really quoted in the series, but it shows that everyone of us can be a hero in our small ways. In each episode, the group, as members of a youth association, became volunteers in community service. We, too, can share something that can contribute to the wellness of our community. :)

Just like what the Philippines' national hero Dr. Jose Rizal quoted: "Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan." The youth is the nation's hope, something like this.

I just finished watching Yukan Club, and I may say that this is one of my favorite Jdoramas I ever watched. Here are the 3 reasons why I love Yukan Club:

It's a mystery series
In selecting series, especially Jdramas, I prefer mystery genres the most. Yukan Club can be considered as mystery series, as the drama involves cases that members of Yukan Club must solve, be it simple or too difficult that the case can't be solved. As what their motto is saying, "Turning impossibilities into possibilities is what Yukan Club is about."

It's a comedy series
I really love comedy, and I bet no one does not love comedy. Yukan Club also has the humor that everyone may love. It does not only contain funny dialogues and actions, but lots of hilarious disguises (and cross-dressing scenes!) as well.

It's a star-studded series

Yukan Club consists of members of Student Union of St. President Gakuen, played by 3 ikemen JE idols (Akanishi Jin, Kanjani8's Yokoyama You and KATTUN's Taguchi Junnosuke)

and 3 gorgeous, foreign-looking joyuus (Kashii Yu, Suzuki Emi and Minami).

Aside from artistes who played main characters, every episode has guest artistes, among them were:

Hey!Say!JUMP's Chinen Yuri

NEWS' Koyama Keiichiro
and believe it or not...

even Taiwanese actor Mike He (who's also one of my favorite Taiwanese actor)
also had an appearance in one of the episode! He even learned to speak Japanese for this series!<333

Today’s March, and summer season in the Philippines have already started. Summer vacation is approaching soon, so most students are excited that soon, the classes for a school year would end.

But for all graduating students, this month will be a very memorable month, because they will be “rewarded” for their hard work done. At last, they are now able to reach their dreams. Omedetou, minna! Omedetou to all graduating students! Banzai! (But in my case, I will graduate on April 2013.)

graduate na

Actually a while ago, I already got my graduation picture in a frame together with wallet size photos. Now, I have a proof that I will really graduate… haha…

Anyway…

FANGIRLING MODE

I already finished watching Zenkai Girl last March 12, and I really love this dorama so much! (as in, my heart’s got “doki doki” while watching it…and at the same time it’s funny!...hehe…!) The French cuisine (Biiru Sato/Beer Sato --> Ru Sato/Le Sato -->Le Chateau) just reminds me of our French class last semester, hehe… Plus I really love Gakky (Aragaki Yui), my ichiban Japanese actress, and I was totally in love with Ryo-Papa to Pitaro/Beetaro/Emitaro. Speaking of Pitaro, I think he is the chibi version of Massu (Masuda Takahisa of NEWS), isn’t he?!? Yay!!! ^o^

pitaro looks like massu!    Massu oink oink

And here’s a photo of Sota-Papa and the ‘grown-up Pitaro’…hehe..

Sota-papa and the grown up Pitaro
By the way, this photo is a screencap from NEWS’ “Summer Time” PV…I actually like this song that really suits with today’s season…^o^

I just wonder if it is possible that Zenkai Girl may have an SP drama. If that’s possible, I think it would be a ‘love story’ between the grown up Pitaro and Hinata, hehe… Grown up Hinata may be played by any actress, but I want Masuda Takahisa to be the grown up Pitaro. What do you think? ^o^

*The third part of my 'drama review:Kowai Nichiyoubi' post!

My niban idols

NEWS’ Masuda Takahisa in 09.17.2000 episode (Examining Room ~The Scary Testing of Your Guts~) . I admit that I couldn’t fully understand the story in this episode.

*I really want to pinch those cheeks!

Role: Masuda Takahisa as a boy who has a strange classmate

Watch out for: that strange classmate in the examining room of an abandoned hospital

Yamashita Tomohisa, together with Kattun’s Tanaka Koki in 12.26.1999 episode (Doppelganger ~When You Meet Another One of Yourself~)

*YamaPi’s DOPPELGANGER’s turning back! Creepy!

*I think Koki’s face really changed!

Role: Yamashita Tomohisa and Tanaka Koki as students

Watch out for: YamaPi’s and Koki’s DOPPELGANGERS!

Scary note: Don’t ever try to follow your ‘carbon copy’, or else, you’ll die!

I think these are more suitable for Halloween, but there is one episode that fits for today’s season.

Ikuta Toma in 12.26.1999 episode (Present ~Conclusion of a Sad Christmas~)

And this is a tear-jerking, not a scary episode!

*KAWAII Toma-kun!

Role: Ikuta Toma as a boy who was about to celebrate Christmas with his father and mother

Watch out for: His mother’s sudden change of personality

Mystery behind: His father died because of accident, and later realized that he also died from that accident.

Actually, there are also other available episodes where YamaPi, Toma and Kattun members starred in, but I prioritized to download and watch episodes with Arashi and Kanjani8 members starred in.

riemaynine: (Default)

*Second Part of my 'drama review:Kowai Nichiyoubi' post!

Kanjani8!

Shibutani Subaru in 07.04.1999 episode (Woman in the 8mm Video). And I think this is the scariest among all episodes I watched!

*Shibuyan seemed so surprised with what he saw, as evidenced by his EYES!

Role: Shibutani Subaru as the student director editing the film

Watch out for: a black mark on the film, changing from time to time, turning into a figure of a woman’s face

Murakami Shingo in 07.11.1999 episode (Child Who Came to the Hospital).

*The GORILLA was an ikemen during that time! XD

Role: Murakami Shingo as a sick boy in a hospital, having 50-50 chance of living

Watch out for: a strange young girl with a ball

Scary note: Once the girl threw her ball to a sick person, that person would die

Yokoyama Yu in 09.09.1999 episode (The Scary Story that was Stamped).

*Yokocho seemed so happy!

Role: Yokoyama Yu as one of the ‘navigators’ of Kowai Nichiyoubi

Watch out for: a strange burnt mask that keeps on returning

Mystery behind: The burnt mask was supposed to be the face of a daughter who was burned by her mother alive in an attempted murder-suicide .

Maruyama Ryuhei and Yasuda Shota (YamaDa!) in 10.17.1999 episode (From Africa).

*YamaDa seems so close with one another! Sooo cute!

Role: Yasuda Shota as the roommate of Maruyama Ryuhei as a boy who travelled to Africa

Watch out for: loud knocks on door, door of veranda opening by itself, and running water

Mystery behind: sick Maruyama’s spirit came back to Japan, in their room

Nishikido Ryo in 10.24.1999 episode (Bye-Bye). Not actually scary, but moving…

*Crying chibi Ryo! Awww…

Role: Nishikido Ryo as a 10 year old boy who loves his pet dog Taro that would die anytime

Watch out for: the dog that was heard saying “Bye Bye” to him

Yasuda Shota and Ohkura Tadayoshi (OhYass!) in 09.10.2000 episode (Messenger From My Memory ~The Fear of Reincarnating the Past!!~).

*Tacchon, was that really you?!?

*OhYass, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?

*Yasu’s shoulders were broad! Well…I just noticed!

Role: Yasuda Shota as a boy who couldn’t forget his past mistake

Watch out for: His elementary schoolmate who keeps appearing at him. He even appeared as a boy of the same age as him (played by Ohkura Tadayoshi).

Mystery behind: The boy named Tomohiko died during their elementary days, because the train hit him. Prior the train accident, his foot was stuck between the rails. He sought help, but Yusuke (played by Yasuda Shota) left him.

*up next: My Niban Idols in Kowai Nichiyoubi!

riemaynine: (Default)

*The first part of my 'drama review:Kowai Nichiyoubi' post!

Arashi’s Kaze Trio!

Aiba Masaki, together with Kattun’s Nakamaru Yuichi starred in 08.08.1999 episode (Don't Move!).

*Look! There’s something in the mirror!

*Sleeping Nakamaru

Role: Aiba Masaki as the roommate/schoolmate/friend of Nakamaru Yuichi as the sick student.

Watch out for: the woman in the mirror

Mystery behind: The woman was found dead after reported to be missing. Prior to the finding of the woman’s body, she had a plastic surgery operation, but was not successful.

Ninomiya Kazunari starred in 08.29.1999 episode (Was it Here?).

*Nino-kun’s face didn’t change at all!

Role: Ninomiya Kazunari as one of the three students staying in a Japanese style hotel/inn

Watch out for: the ‘4th student’ staying with them

Mystery behind: The ‘4th student’ was once a student who joined the swimming training camp who was drowned in the sea near the hotel/inn. The room where the three students (including Ninomiya) are staying was the same room where the drowned student was staying before.

Matsumoto Jun starred in 09.09.1999 episode(Used Clothing Store) .

For me, among those three episodes, “Used Clothing Store” is the scariest.

*MatsuJun looked like a girl! (And I think he looked like Ryza Cenon there!)

Role: Matsumoto Jun as the part-timer who works in used clothing store

Watch out for: a strange man trying to reach him

Mystery behind: the used blood-stained pants that he bought from that store

*Up next: Chibi Eito in Kowai Nichiyoubi!
riemaynine: (Default)

Last night, I re-watched the 1999-2000 mini-series “Kowai Nichiyoubi” featuring my ichiban and niban J&A idols during the time they were in their Johnny’s Jrs. Era. Well, I think I was late, because Halloween was ended a month ago (It’s the first Sunday of Advent, by the way).

The videos were subbed by Newshfan, but since her LJ account was deleted, I once watched them on YouTube. Lucky enough, someone reuploaded them! (By the way, even though Newshfan deleted her LJ, she has her Dreamwidth account full of JE subbed videos! Although many links are broken.)

Arashi’s Kaze trio (Aiba Masaki, Ninomiya Kazunari and Matsumoto Jun), Kanjani8 members, NEWS’ Kato Shigeaki and Masuda Takahisa, Ikuta Toma and Yamashita Tomohisa are my ichiban and niban idols who starred in the series. Kattun members; and Akanishi Jin also starred in! (And all of them are so kawaii!)

Kanjani8’s Yokoyama Yu and Kattun’s Kamenashi Kazuya were two of the four “navigators” of the first season/edition of the series that was aired on 1999.07.04 to 1999.09.26.

*Yoko’s face looked a bit matured for his age,but didn’t change at all through the years, so he looks younger than his age now!

*Kame’s eyebrows were thick back then!

*Ikuta Toma, Yamashita Tomohisa and Kattun’s Tanaka Koki were three of the four “navigators” of Kowai Nichiyoubi~ Shinshou ~ that was aired on 1999.10.03 to 1999.12.26.

*Sooo KAWAII! And Just like Kame, Koki also had thick eyebrows back then!

Akanishi Jin was one of the “navigators” of Kowai Nichiyoubi~2000~ that was aired on 2000.07.02 to 2000.11.26.

(Gomen…I don’t have any screencaps.)

I only downloaded some episodes that are available. (All episodes where Kato Shigeaki, my ichiban in NEWS starred in, are unavailable, so I wasn’t able to download and watch them.  And I only downloaded the available episodes starring Eito members. So sad…)

For the episode guide: HERE

I bet you already watched those!...But for those who haven’t watch yet, just search “Scary Sunday” or “Kowai Nichiyoubi” on YouTube!

And here are the other links where you can download them! Ichi...Ni...San.

*I'll post separate entries for Arashi, Kanjani8 and my niban idols episodes!
