I was able to finish a Korean drama for the first time last night(since I am more into Japanese dramas) and this was so intense! But honestly, I was not surprised too much at the end of the episodes, maybe because I got used to watch several Jdramas with this kind of genre, or maybe because of the spoilers circulating around Facebook lol.Since this series is trending for several days already, I did give this a try.
So this is a 9-episode survival game-type of drama (genre same with Japan's Alice in Borderland and Zero: Ikkaku Senkin Game, among others), where 456 financially-struggled individuals were invited to compete in six children's games, risking their lives just to win a cash prize.
1st game: Red light, Green light (This is similar to Daruma-san ga Koronda)
2nd game: Honeycomb Game (It somewhat reminds me of "Katanuki" game played by Bi Shounen before!)
3rd game: Tug-of-War
4th game: Marble Game
5th game: Crossing Bridge (Similar to Stepping Stones Game)
6th game: Squid Game (Korean Agawang Base, maybe? I am not sure about the rules of the game, sorry.)
Aside from the deadly games, there are also some exciting twists in the drama, which I now understand why this is in hype. Maybe I would not tell in details anymore, but instead, would just recommend watching it via NETFLIX.
Just like any other survival game-type of series/movies, below are what we can learn from the drama:
🦑There is no such thing as easy money.
🦑Trust is hard to gain but easy to break.
(I actually commented the same after watching Zero: Ikkaku Senkin Game lol)
There is a rumor that this will have Season 2, so if ever this is true, then, I am looking forward to this as well!
